Dear First UMC Family and Friends,

Generosity is the starting point of our relationship with God.  God’s first generous gift to us is the gift of life.  God’s next generous gift to us is the gift of God’s creation in which we live.  God’s most generous gift to us is the gift of salvation freely offered through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  In response, we are called to support our church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness to help the church fulfill the mission God has for us.

The last two years have been challenging for all, as we have become aware of the shifting cultural landscape around us, calling us to adapt our church ministries to current reality.  We are finding new and exciting ways to live into our church vision to be alive in Christ, united in nurturing fellowship, and reaching out to share God’s boundless love.  We stand strong in hope and faith because we know that God is with us.  We stand together, supporting one another as we grow in Christian love and discipleship.  Your ongoing support in so many areas of our ministry is greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to 2023, the Stewardship Team is now asking you to prayerfully consider your financial support for First UMC for the new year.

  • If you turned in an Estimate of Giving (pledge) card this past year, would you prayerfully consider increasing your pledge by 2% to 5%?  For a person whose pledge in 2022 was $500 a month, a 2% increase is $10 a month and a 5% increase is $25 a month.
  • If you have not pledged in the past, will you prayerfully consider making a first-time pledge as a part of your ongoing walk with Christ?  In so doing, choose an amount that easily fits in your household budget.

Please ask God to guide you as you consider how you will support the church’s ministries with your financial gifts during the upcoming year.

We invite you to fill out an Estimate of Giving card and return it to Alma Carlton in the church office or drop it in the offering basket during worship on October 16th.

Thank you in advance for your support of First United Methodist Church in Lexington.
