This class gathers each Sunday on the second (top) floor. The International Lesson Series is used with a variety of teachers from within the church as well as guest teachers from the community. Couples, as well as singles, (late 70's and up) comprise this class. Refreshments are enjoyed on the first Sunday of the month along with a devotional. Several socials are planned throughout the year. We love Christian fellowship! Adult Fellowship supports many local charities and actively participates in church activities and projects. Some hands-on projects include providing and serving a monthly meal at First Hope Ministries, packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, servers for the Sunday meal at the Episcopal Church, and collecting food items for Pastor's Panty. Members of the Adult Fellowship Class are very active and welcome visitors and new members.

Agape is a Greek word that describes the fatherly love God has for His people and the reciprocating love we have for Him. The Agape Sunday School class is comprised of mature adults, both singles and couples (50's and up). The sustaining principles of the Agape class are Service, Growth, and Fellowship:
Service - Service to First United Methodist Church and service through First United Methodist Church. Through a weekly class offering, occasional fundraising events, and volunteer activities, the Agape class supports a number of local, national, and global mission outreaches in addition to critical human services in the community.
Growth - Through the Sunday School experience, members of the class strive to grow in their understanding of God’s word, God’s will, and God's grace. The class is taught by a rotation of class members and occasional guest speakers. A variety of literature is used, generally focusing on the discernment of God's will and the application of Christian principles in real daily life.
Fellowship - The class believes that Christian joy, strength, solace, and comfort is found in the company of fellow Christians. Class members support each other in times of difficulty and in times of joy. The class gathers socially outside of church each month.

Although small in numbers, this class (50's and up) connects to our church in a variety of ways. Our group is very close, and we support each other in the ups and downs of life, including choosing weekly prayer partners. Also, we have many activities outside of class such as covered dish suppers, breakfast in and out of class, and yearly mission projects. Our class members share the responsibility of teaching the lesson each Sunday following the International Lesson Series most of the time.
Time: 9:30 a.m. Location: 1st Floor classroom and on Zoom
The couples and singles (70’s, 80’s and 90's) who make up this class are committed to deepening their faith through the weekly study of the United Methodist Adult Bible Study series. They share in teaching duties and openly and comfortably participate in discussions of weekly lessons. They are generous in sharing their time, talents and gifts for church, community, and individuals’ needs. In honor of their teachers and in memory of those who pass away, they monetarily support First Hope Ministries, Meals on Wheels, Davidson Medical Ministries, Life Center, and special needs that arise in the church, and youth. The class traditionally prepares a Sunday soup and sandwich luncheon in early December for the congregation and guests. Donations are accepted and used for holiday Christmas needs within the community. Spruill - Koinonia seeks and openly welcomes those who would like to become a part of a close-knit, loving, caring group of struggling Christians.
