This fall Pastor Cheryl will lead The Way of Blessedness, a 10-Week study on the Beatitudes to be held on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Church Library beginning on September 15. Each week we will explore one of the Beatitudes from Matthew 5 in depth, including spiritual practices that will form us as listeners and enactors of God’s Word.
According to the authors: “This 10-week journey helps participants empty themselves of pride so that they can be filled with God's abundant love. As they are transformed by God's love, they may become people who mourn with and for others and our world, who understand and live out Jesus' example of meekness, who hunger and thirst for holiness, who humbly offer and receive mercy, whose hearts are pure and able to see the imprint of God in all things, who seek peace, and who hold strong in our faith through adversity. The Way of Blessedness guides participants along a path that offers clarity to their way of life and the very life of God's kingdom.”
We will also offer a new class of Disciple Fast Track 1: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study. This 24-week study offers a broad overview of the Bible, beginning with Genesis and ending with Revelation. It introduces study participants to the grand sweep of scripture, with an emphasis on Christian discipleship. We need at least six participants—time and place will be determined by what works best for the most people.
The authors describe the study: “Disciple Fast Track, an adaptation of the original, bestselling Disciple Bible Study, provides a viable option for busy people seeking comprehensive engagement over time with the entire biblical text. Fast Track groups meet for a total of 24 weeks, devoting 12 weeks each to the Old Testament and the New Testament. Participants read a manageable 3-5 chapters of the Bible daily in preparation for the weekly meetings, which last approximately 75 minutes.”

The cost of the participants’ books are $10 for The Way of Blessedness and $17 for the Disciple Fast Track 1.
